Thin places

View looking out from the Abbey grounds

Today is the final day here at Iona.  We leave on the morning ferry heading back to Mull and then to Oban.  So today I have a few random shots from the island for you that I have taken throughout the week that I have spent here.

A view of the thistles and
busy bee's collecting the pollen

The Highland Coos up close and personal

The baby coo was a little shy and backed away

And some signs just beg to be photographed

A cross in Colomba burial chapel

Grazing sheep, just minding its business

The rolling hills

One of many crosses that can be seen on the island

A wire statue of Columba in the Abbey Church

A couple of black sheep
(someone will understand who this is for)

Looking up with the roof destroyed and most of the walls at the Nunnery, the sky is vast and yet we can still glimpse through a small window

Iona harbour in the evening with the boaters all safely home.

Thin places, where one is closer to the great divine. The presence forever changes you, the fellowship brings many communities together as one. The food unites us all as one around a table.  Look for the thin places, feel the presence of the divine and let it fill your soul with peace.  Let the peace of Iona be yours on this journey.
